What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Food Store Manager, the Meat Manager will play a key role in providing leadership and guidance in supporting the overall business objectives of the department. As a hands-on leader, the Meat Manager will be responsible for day to day execution of tasks within the meat department and work alongside team members to deliver exceptional service adding value to our customers. Additional responsibilities include:
• Maintain team member levels by recruiting, selecting, orientating, developing personal growth opportunities and training employees
• Achieve results by communicating job expectations via planning, monitoring, and appraising performance through talent management, including coaching and disciplining employees
• Ensure all team members adhere to Co-op standards regarding merchandising, signage, team member appearance, housekeeping, health & safety and loss prevention.
• Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; prepare annual budgets; control expenditures; analyze variances and initiate corrective actions.
• Foster a positive work environment that promotes a strong culture of engagement within the department
• Achieve established objectives in terms of brand, service levels, quality, and timeliness of delivery and identify areas for improvement.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and Customer Service and have/are:
• A Grade 12 Diploma; post-secondary general business education is an asset.
• 3+ years experience in a supervisory role and leading others, previous retail supervisory experience considered an asset.
• An ability to handle multiple demands and can be adaptable, organized, and efficient.
• Customer service-focused and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
• Honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented, and strive to be the best in what you do.
• Believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays where necessary.

• Physically capable of performing dynamic and static movements, repetitive motions, and repeated lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Meat cutting experience considered an asset.
• Meat Advance considered an asset.
